Epilepsy Durham Region is proud to announce that we will be hosting Everything Epilepsy • A Parent's Forum on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00. p.m. This is a day for parents and caregivers of people living with Epilepsy to learn, have questions answered, and meet other families who are also touched by Epilepsy.

Dr. Daryoush Gharghi completed his MD in Iran in 1998. He then completed his MSc in Neurological Sciences at McGill University in 2005 followed by a residency in Adult Neurology at the University of Toronto from 2007-2012. Dr. Gharghi also has a fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology which he obtained at the University Hospitals-Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio 2012-2013.
Dr. Gharghi believes in getting it right first time; this means more than getting the diagnosis right, it means finding out what the patient hopes for and expects from treatment. He is currently the Staff Neurologist/Epileptologist at Rouge Valley Health System, has a practice at the StopFalls Canada Clinic in North York, and is married with a six year old son.

The Ketogenic Diet for Children with Epilepsy
Jennifer Fabe currently has a practice as the Registered Dietitian of the Diet Therapy for Epilepsy Service, in the Division of Neurology at McMaster Children's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario.
A summary of her research recent work on outpatient ketogenic diet initiation was presented in October 2014 at the Global Symposium for Diet Therapies for Epilepsy in Liverpool, UK. Other Canadian Epilepsy programs have received training from Jennifer and she continues to support other programs worldwide. Jennifer is a co-investigator in Canadian ketogenic research projects, she has been invited to speak at universities, charity events, parent support groups and proudly serves on the International Advisory Board of Matthew's Friends Charity and other local non-profit organizations. She is also the recent recipient of the H.O.P.E Award by Epilepsy Halton Peel Hamilton. She serves as the appointed president of Matthew's Friends Canada.

Dr. Eduard Bercovici finished his medical school at the University of Toronto. He did a Master of Science degree in Epilepsy. After completing his Neurology residency he went on to complete a fellowship in Epilepsy at the Toronto Western Hospital.
He currently works as Neurologist and Epileptologist at Trillium Health Partners. He also works at Toronto Western Hospital as an Epileptologist where he has founded the Adult Epilepsy Diet Clinic. He is a lecturer with the Faculty of Medicine teaching Neurology/Epilepsy to medical students and residents.
