September 11, 2014 - Canadians with neurological conditions, caregivers and representatives from Neurological Health Charities Canada celebrate the completion of the National Population Health Study of Neurological Conditions, the first Canadian study of its kind. Earlier today, during her opening remarks at an international gathering of dementia experts, the Honourable Rona Ambrose, Canada's Minister of Health, announced the release of the study's report, Mapping Connections: An Understanding of Neurological Conditions in Canada. The report highlights key findings from the study, identifying the impacts neurological conditions have on affected individuals, their families and the health care system.

Yesterday afternoon, a very special letter was hand delivered to our door. This supportive letter is from Kathleen Wynne, the Premier of Ontario, wishing us the best with reaching our goals for Epic Climb. We are thrilled and honoured to receive such a letter.

Summer is here and time for vacations! Does having epilepsy or having a child or family member with epilepsy alter your plans? For the majority of people, living with epilepsy shouldn't change vacation plans, but some forethought and planning may be needed. For people with uncontrolled seizures, the planning should be more deliberate. Where you go, how you get there, and what types of activities you plan need to consider the risks of living with epilepsy. Vacation locations will depend on how easily you can get there if you don't drive and on the availability of transportation once you arrive at your destination.
