Epilepsy Durham Region welcomes new Epilepsy Educator – Laura Wilson

May 11, 2022

Laura is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Social Work program at Toronto Metropolitan University (previously Ryerson). She has committed herself to adapting and learning from new experiences in her volunteer work as a Peer Mentor, as well as her time as a research volunteer with WomenatthecentrE, where she worked with survivors of intimate partner violence.

Through placement experiences with agencies such as Girls Incorporated and the John Howard Society of Durham Region, Laura has developed skills that she is excited to bring forth into the Epilepsy Durham Region team.

Laura is excited to follow this new journey into working with Epilepsy Durham Region and growing into her role to support individuals and families with Epilepsy in any way that she can.

As Epilepsy Durham Region’s new Epilepsy Educator, Laura will be providing client support services including epilepsy education presentations and resources, as well as assistance with system navigation and local community resources. Please join us in welcoming Laura to the Epilepsy Durham Region team.
